Afterschool kids clubs
Afterschool kids clubs (放課後児童クラブ, houkago jidou kurabu) are facilities that can watch elementary school-aged children if their guardians are not around during the day. They are usually located in children’s facilities, public halls, empty classrooms, and other places in the region. An adult helper will be present to help out with and watch over the children's activities. Many families now have both parents working, so these kids clubs increase every year.
