Medical system differences
Medical consultation and treatment methods vary from country to country. Although it is understandable that you may be concerned because you are treated differently than you are used to, you should remember that cultural differences will be reflected in the medical system. So it is important to confirm the purpose of treatment, the nature of the medication, any possible side effects, and anything else that you are uncertain about.
As there is no guarantee that the doctor will speak anything other than Japanese, and because even in normal circumstances a visit to the doctor can be unnerving, it may be a good idea to take someone with you who is able to act as an interpreter if necessary.
